Last month, Hydrostor representatives were proud to join the Adventist Health Tehachapi Valley team, as well as other local officials and community members, to present hospital representatives Jason Wells, Jenny Lavers, and Ghassan Jamaleddine, MD, with a donation that will support the acquisition of advanced perfusion imaging software for the CT machines in their imaging department. The new software will help their healthcare teams more quickly and effectively diagnose and treat stroke patients.
For a critical care community hospital like Adventist Health Tehachapi Valley, having access to this technology means significantly reduced travel times for patients who may otherwise have to travel further to other hospitals to receive care. Having these critical diagnostic tools closer to home provides meaningful medical benefits not just for residents in Tehachapi, but for residents throughout East Kern County.
The event served as a reminder that major projects are ultimately about people and communities. While Hydrostor is developing the Willow Rock Energy Storage Center in Kern County, the company's connection to the region extends well beyond project boundaries. As our presence in the area grows, so does our responsibility to support the communities where our employees, contractors, partners, and neighbours live and work.
Hydrostor’s commitment is reflected in the scale of opportunity Willow Rock represents for Kern County. The 500 MW long-duration energy storage facility is expected to create more than 700 construction jobs, support 25 to 40 permanent operating positions, and generate more than $500 million in direct and indirect local economic benefits over the project’s lifespan.
As construction activity ramps up in the years ahead, those benefits will be felt across a wide range of sectors, from skilled construction trades and engineering to hospitality, transportation and local services. The project is designed to operate for decades, creating a sustained economic presence in the region while helping California meet its growingenergy needs.
Hydrostor’s donation to Adventist Health reflects the partnerships Hydrostor continues to build in Kern County as we focus on delivering lasting value through both major infrastructure investment and helping meet local priorities.
We would like to thank Adventist Health Tehachapi Valley, the Tehachapi Valley Healthcare District, Supervisor Chris Parlier, and everyone who participated in this event. As our Willow Rock project advances through construction, we look forward to contributing to the growth and long-term success of the Tehachapi and Kern County communities.
